Information kept on your device
Hafiz does not require an account. Your memorisation progress, daily goal, streak, jewels, reminder preferences and rosary count are stored locally on your device. Alkhwarizmi does not receive this information.
If you make a recitation recording, Hafiz uses the microphone only after you choose to record and grant permission. Recordings remain on your device. They leave the device only when you deliberately use Android's share function and choose a recipient or service.
Advertising and automatically processed data
Hafiz includes the Google Mobile Ads SDK to display advertising and support the free app. Google may automatically collect and share:
- an IP address, which may indicate approximate location;
- app interactions, such as app launches and taps;
- diagnostic and performance information; and
- device or other identifiers, including advertising identifiers.
Google processes this data for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention, security and compliance. Data is encrypted while being transmitted. Google's handling of this information is governed by its own policies.
Permissions and your choices
You can deny or withdraw microphone and notification permissions in Android Settings. You can delete individual recordings from within the app. Clearing Hafiz's storage or uninstalling it removes its locally stored settings and progress.
Android also provides controls to reset or delete your advertising ID. These controls may affect how advertising is personalised.
Retention and sharing
Local app information remains on your device until you delete it, clear the app's storage or uninstall Hafiz. Alkhwarizmi does not sell your personal information. Information processed by Google is retained and handled according to Google's policies and applicable law.
Children and families
Hafiz is a general-audience Quran memorisation tool. It does not ask users to create accounts or knowingly request names, email addresses or other direct personal details. Parents and guardians should supervise a child's use of the app and the device's advertising and permission settings.

We may update this policy when Hafiz's features or legal obligations change. The latest version will remain available at this address, with its effective date shown above.
